SPA Regatta (Medemblik, The Netherlands)

 

Since 1984, the annual SPA Regatta in Medemblik has been organised by World Sailing Management together with Trefpunt Sports and Leisure Marketing. Within a few years this event quickly became one of the biggest and most important Olympic class sailing events.

Each year an average of 1200 competitors from 54 nations come to Medemblik in order to gain points in ranking to qualify for the Olympic Games. The International Sailing Federation regards the SPA Regatta as a leading event contributing to the O'Neill World Sailing Rankings - the official ISAF Rankings for the Olympic Classes which reflects the Worlds best sailors.
